About this blog

This blog is run by a group of dedicated British Republicans. However, although we support Republic, the organisation that campaigns for a Democratically elected Head of State in Britain, it is totally independent, both editorially and financially, from Republic.

We are very keen to recruit new writers, so if you can write articles like these, or perhaps even better, please contact using the email address given below. All political views are acceptable, provided they are, of course, more or less Republican.

Suggested article length is 500-1500 words, but this is not compulsory. You may remain anonymous if you prefer.

Suggested topics include: Monarchy and….
….the hereditary principle
….politics
….power
….religion
….the constitution
….money
….taxes
….history
….war
….the military
….medals
….sycophancy
….the media
….spin/PR
….tourism
….honesty
….family values
….the House of Lords
….the Privy Council
….democracy
….their ‘virtues’
….the ‘jubilee’
….and on and on and on. This is of course only a short list of possible topics, but you can write on almost any other aspect of monarchy you like.

We cannot guarantee to publish every article submitted, but all will be read and considered for publication. Thanks.
